About Ernst Gombrich
Ernst Gombrich (1909-2001) was an Austrian-born art historian and writer, best known for his classic work, The Story of Art. He was born in Vienna and grew up in a cultured and intellectual Jewish family.
Gombrich received his education at the University of Vienna, where he studied art history under the famous art historian Julius von Schlosser.
