About the Author
Hanya Yanagihara is a novelist and journalist. She was born in Hawaii and raised in New York City. She is the author of two novels, A Little Life and The People in the Trees.
Yanagihara graduated from Pomona College and earned an MFA in fiction from Columbia University. Yanagihara’s work has appeared in The New York Times, Vogue, Elle, GQ, Wired, and The New Yorker.
Yanagihara’s novel A Little Life won the Kirkus Prize and was a finalist for the National Book Award. It has been translated into over twenty languages and is one of the top-selling foreign books in China. Yanagihara’s second novel, The People in the Trees, was published in 2013.
