About the Author
Richard Skolnik is an American educator, author, and public health expert. He is a professor at George Washington University’s Milken Institute School of Public Health. He has also served as director of the school’s Master of Public Health program and as associate dean for academic affairs.
Skolnik is a widely recognized authority on global health, having written or edited more than 20 books and monographs on the subject. He is the author of the textbook “Essentials of Global Health” (Jones & Bartlett Learning, 2015), which is used in universities around the world. He is also the co-editor of the “Global Health 101” book series ( Jones & Bartlett Learning, 2013).
Skolnik has served as a consultant to the World Health Organization, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and many other organizations. He was a Fulbright Scholar in India in 1986-87, and he has conducted research in more than 25 countries.
Skolnik received his MPH from Yale University and his DrPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
