About the Author
Dr. Seuss was the pen name of Theodor Seuss Geisel, who was born on March 2nd, 1904 in Springfield, Massachusetts. He was an only child and his middle name – Seuss – was his mother’s maiden name.
Dr. Seuss’s first book, And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street, was published in 1937. It was rejected by 27 different publishers before finally being accepted by Vanguard Press.
