About the Author
Lori Gottlieb is an American psychotherapist and New York Times, bestselling author. She is well known for her advice column in The Atlantic, “Dear Therapist”, which she has been writing since 2017.
In addition to her work as a therapist and writer, Gottlieb also serves as an executive producer on the popular Netflix show Love Is Blind. She is also the author of five other best-selling books: Stick Figure, Marry Him, It’s Better Than It Looks, Maybe You Should Talk To Someone, and this summer’s most anticipated book, Brave New World.
Gottlieb is a graduate of U.C. Berkeley, where she earned her B.A. in English literature and psychology, followed by a two-year postgraduate degree in clinical psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, California. She then went on to earn her Ph.D. at UCLA’s Fielding School of Public Health, specializing in mental health services research.
Since then, Gottlieb has gained recognition as a leading voice in psychology, mental health, and relationships. She has been featured in numerous media outlets such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, National Public Radio’s “Fresh Air” and “The Oprah Winfrey Show”, among many others.
