Rhythm of War PDF is the fourth novel in Brandon Sanderson’s The Stormlight Archive series. It was published by Tor Books on November 17, 2020. The book debuted at number two on The New York Times Best Seller list for hardcover fiction and number one on the Publishers Weekly list. It explores the themes of trust, betrayal, and love.
Sanderson began writing the series in 2009 with the novel The Way of Kings. He wrote Words of Radiance, the second book in the series, concurrently with Calamity, the final book in his Mistborn trilogy. He finished writing Stormlight 4 in March 2020.
The novel was originally going to be published in two parts, but Sanderson and his editors decided that splitting the book would make for a weaker story. The title Rhythm of War was announced on September 17, 2020.
The ebook and audiobook were both released on November 17, 2020. The first print run consisted of one million copies.

Rhythm of War Summary
The book starts with Kaladin, the main protagonist, being rescued by his fellow soldiers after he is first betrayed and left for dead. He is then taken to a safe place where he can heal and recuperate. The book then jumps to Shallan’s story.
She is still training under Jasnah, learning how to become a truthwatcher. However, she is also trying to keep her past a secret and deal with the guilt she feels over what she did to her family. The book then follows Dalinar, who is preparing for war against the Parshendi. However, he is also struggling with his vision’s of the past and the possible return of the Voidbringers.
The book then goes back to Kaladin’s story. He is now training the bridgemen to become soldiers and protect the city of Alethkar from the coming war. The book then follows Shallan as she tries to uncover the secret of Jasnah’s Soulcaster and what it can do. She is also trying to find a way to stop the Voidbringers from returning. At the end of the book, Kaladin and Shallan meet up and decide to join forces to stop the Voidbringers.
The book ends with a cliffhanger, with the Parshendi attacking the city of Alethkar and Kaladin being betrayed once again.

About the Author
Brandon Sanderson is an American fantasy and science fiction writer. He is best known for the Cosmere universe, in which most of his adult fiction books are set. He is also a prolific author of short stories, including “The Emperor’s Soul”, which won the Hugo Award for Best Novella. Within the Cosmere, Sanderson is known for creating unique magic systems.
Sanderson was born on December 19, 1975, in Lincoln, Nebraska. He currently lives in Utah with his wife and children. Sanderson graduated from Brigham Young University in 2000 with a B.A. in English and a minor in business. Afterward, he wrote Infinity Blade: Awakening, the first book in the Infinity Blade series. He has also written Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians, Steelheart, and Skyward.
In November 2013, Tor Books published The Rithmatist, Sanderson’s first young adult novel. In September 2015, Tor announced that they had acquired the sequel to The Rithmatist as well as a new trilogy set in the same universe. The first book of this new trilogy, Calamity, was published on February 16, 2016.
Sanderson’s work is characterized by his use of magic systems. In most of his adult fiction, he makes use of a main central magic system that unifies all or most of the stories he tells set in that universe.
