The Dhandho Investor Summary
The book begins with the story of how Pabrai became a successful investor. He relates how he used to work in a cubicle at a large corporation, and he was not happy with his life. One day, he read an article about Warren Buffett that inspired him to become an investor.
Pabrai then goes on to describe what he calls the “Dhandho” framework for investing. This framework is based on the principle of seeking out businesses that have a high “return on invested capital” (ROIC). He describes how to find such businesses, and how to value them.
Pabrai also discusses some of the ways in which he has put this framework into practice. For example, he describes how he made a successful investment in a company that makes airplane parts. Overall, The Dhandho Investor is an enlightening book that provides valuable insights into the world of investing.
