About the Author
James Dashner is an American author known for writing the Maze Runner series. He was born on November 26, 1972, in Austell, Georgia, and currently resides in Denver, Colorado. He has three brothers and two sisters.
After graduating from high school, he attended Brigham Young University where he received a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Dashner’s writing career began in 2004 with the publication of his first novel, The Maze Runner. The book was followed by The Scorch Trials (2009) and The Death Cure (2011), which together form the Maze Runner trilogy. In 2014, he wrote The Kill Order, a prequel to the Maze Runner trilogy.
Dashner’s most recent novel is The Fever Code (2016), which is a prequel to the entire Maze Runner series. When Dashner isn’t busy writing, he enjoys playing tennis, hiking, and spending time with his wife and three children.
Dasher said that he was inspired to write The Fever Code book because he wanted to return to the world of The Maze Runner and give readers more information about the characters and their backstories.
