About the Author
Neil Strauss is an American author, journalist and music critic. He has contributed articles to Rolling Stone and was a contributing editor at Blender magazine. Strauss is best known for his book The Game: Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists, in which he described his experiences in the seduction community.
He was born on March 9, 1969, in Morristown, New Jersey. Strauss grew up in Little Falls, New Jersey, and attended public schools. He began writing for his high school newspaper and went on to study journalism at Vassar College, graduating in 1991.
In 2005, he published The Rules of the Game, a book about pickup artists and their seduction techniques. The book was a New York Times bestseller and has been translated into 27 languages.
