About the Author
Patrick Rothfuss is an American author of fantasy novels. He was born in Wisconsin in 1973. Rothfuss attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where he studied English and psychology.
After college, he worked as a janitor, a cook, and a bartender before finally landing a job as an assistant editor at a small publishing company. It was there that he wrote his first novel, The Name of the Wind.
The novel was published in 2007 and became an instant bestseller. It won the Quill Award for Best Fantasy Novel of the Year and was a finalist for the Hugo Award for Best Novel.
