Mitch Albom is an American author, journalist, and musician. He is best known for his bestselling books Tuesdays with Morrie and The Five People You Meet in Heaven.
Albom was born in New Jersey in 1958. He received a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Brandeis University and a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University.
He began his career as a sports journalist, writing for The New York Times and Sports Illustrated. In 2006, he launched his own newspaper, The Detroit Free Press. Albom is also the founder of the charity organization Have Faith Haiti Mission, which provides medical care and other assistance to people in Haiti.
In addition to his work as an author and journalist, Albom is also a successful musician. He has released five albums, including the Grammy-nominated Songs from the Neighborhood: The Music of Mister Rogers. Albom lives in Michigan with his wife and three children.
