About the Author
Daron Acemoglu is a Turkish-American economist who is currently the Killian Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He earned his Ph.D. in economics from the London School of Economics and has held positions at the University of Chicago, the London School of Economics, and the University of Konstanz.
Daron Acemoglu is a Fellow of the Econometric Society, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the British Academy, and the National Academy of Sciences. He is also a recipient of the John Bates Clark Medal, awarded to economists under the age of 40 who have made a significant contribution to the field.
James A. Robinson is a British economist who is currently the David Florence Professor of Government at Harvard University.
