Alexander Hamilton Summary

The book tells the story of Alexander Hamilton, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. It covers his entire life, from his humble beginnings in the West Indies to his death at the hands of Aaron Burr. The book also covers Hamilton’s political career, including his time as a delegate to the Continental Congress and as one of the authors of The Federalist Papers.

Alexander Hamilton was born in the West Indies in 1755. His father abandoned the family when he was just a child, and his mother died soon afterwards. As a result, Hamilton was raised by his cousin and uncle. He received a good education and went on to attend King’s College (now Columbia University) in New York City.

After the outbreak of the Revolutionary War, Hamilton joined a New York militia regiment. He soon caught the attention of General George Washington, who made him his aide-de-camp. Hamilton served with distinction throughout the war, and afterwards he became one of the leading figures in the movement to ratify the Constitution.
