About the Author
B.A. Paris is the author of the New York Times and the USA Today bestselling novel Behind Closed Doors. She grew up in England and now lives in London with her husband and three children.
Paris has always been fascinated by the psychology of what makes people tick, which led her to study psychology at university. After working in mental health for a number of years, she decided to turn her hand to writing and see if she could make people feel the things she felt when reading books she loved.
In an interview, Paris said that the idea for her debut novel came to her “fully formed” after a nightmare. She woke up feeling “really disturbed” and the idea wouldn’t leave her head, so she decided to write it down.
Behind Closed Doors is a novel about domestic abuse, narrated by two people: Jack, the abuser, and his victim, Grace. The story is told from alternating points of view, which allows readers to see the events from both perspectives.
