Carrie Summary

The novel starts with the story of Carrie White, a girl who is bullied at school and has a bad home life. Her mother is a religious fanatic who doesn’t allow her to do anything fun or exciting. When Carrie gets her first period, she doesn’t know what it is and thinks she’s dying.

She runs out of the school in terror, and the girls who were bullying her start to laugh and call her names. Carrie is so upset that she telekinetically makes the girls’ hair catch on fire. The school principal tries to calm her down, but she ends up using her powers to kill him.

Carrie then goes home and uses her powers to kill her mother. She destroys her house and then goes to the prom, where she is crowned Prom Queen. But the girls who bullied her earlier trick her by dumping a bucket of pig’s blood on her head.
