About the Author

Jeff Kinney is an American author and cartoonist, best known for writing the “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” series. He was born on February 19, 1971, in Fort Washington, Maryland. Kinney grew up in the Washington, D.C. area and attended the University of Maryland, where he earned a degree in computer science. After college, he worked as a software developer and video game designer before turning to write and illustration.

Kinney began writing the “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” series in 1998 and started posting the series online in 2004. The series quickly gained popularity and was eventually published as a print book in 2007.
