About the Author
Jon Duckett is a web designer and author who has written a number of bestselling books on web design and development, including HTML & CSS: Design and Build Web Sites and JavaScript & jQuery: Interactive Front-End Development.
He was born in Leeds, UK, in 1978. Jon studied Computer Science at the University of Nottingham, graduating in 2000. After a brief spell working in the e-commerce team at Yorkshire Cable, he set up his own web design business, Silverside Media Ltd.
In 2004, Jon co-authored JavaScript: Visual QuickStart Guide with friends and colleagues James Williamson and Aaron Gustafson. The book was an instant success and led to Jon writing a number of other titles, including the best-selling HTML & CSS: Design and Build Web Sites.
Jon’s aim is always to produce clear, easy-to-read books that provide practical examples of how things work. When he’s not writing, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two young daughters, cycling, and playing the odd game of tennis.
