Today I would like to talk about some of the most popular young adult books so far in 2022. I have spent some time doing research last weekend.
How was it for you? Mine, especially Sunday, was a bit crazy. We went hiking on the hills around here, in the countryside north of Rome, and at some point, we got caught by massive rain, and it even started to hail! When we got back home we were soaking wet, but tired and happy.
I spent the rest of the day in bed, without caring about the thunderstorm that kept roaring outside. I was safe and warm, and I kept reading Crazy Rich Asians with a cup of tea on the bedside table.
I quite like my current read. It’s different from my last one, Daisy Jones & The Six (which I’ve talked about in my previous post), in the sense that it’s a lighter read (for now – I’ve read more or less 150 pages out of 500) and I need something like this every once in a while. Something to enjoy without thinking about it too much.
I am also reading/listening to My Sister, the Serial Killer, in the audiobook version, when I drive and have time. Unlike Crazy Rich Asians, this book digs deeper into human psychology, especially from a woman’s perspective. I have listened to 31 chapters out of 78 so far; they are very short and quite easy to listen to. The story is set to the present days in Lagos and is told by the voice of Korede, whose sister, Ayoola, keeps getting rid of all her boyfriends. By “getting rid” I mean really getting rid. And then they have to dispose of the body.
I’m curious to see what’s going to happen in both the novels. My Sister, the Serial Killer has also been nominated in the Women’s Prize for Fiction Longlist of 2022 (I talked about this in another post).

The books I’ve chosen are amongst the best rated on Goodreads. Booktubers, bookstagrammers and all the book lovers keep talking about them. To be always up-to-date with the current trends, we need to know about them!
