About the Author
William R. Forstchen (born October 18, 1950) is an American author, best known for his work in the military history and science fiction genres. He has written over 50 novels, including the “One Second After” series.
Forstchen was born in Millburn, New Jersey, and attended Drew University, where he received a BA in history. He later earned an MA in history from Purdue University and a PhD in political science from Rutgers University.
Forstchen is a former professor of history and political science at Montreat College, near Asheville, North Carolina. He is a Fellow of The Independent Institute, Oakland, California. He has also been a guest lecturer at the United States Air Force Academy and the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Forstchen’s best-known work is the “One Second After” series, which deals with the aftermath of an EMP attack on the United States. The first book in the series, “One Second After”, was published in 2009 and became a New York Times bestseller.
