The 100 Summary
The book begins with a hundred juvenile delinquents being sent from the overcrowded International Space Station down to the surface of Earth, 97 years after a nuclear apocalypse destroyed civilization. The teens – all teenagers who have committed crimes – are sent in an effort to determine if the Earth is now habitable.
The story follows Clarke Griffin, a 16-year-old girl who was convicted of a crime she didn’t commit, and Bellamy Blake, the 18-year-old leader of the delinquents. As they try to find a way to survive on a hostile planet, they must also grapple with the fact that they are not alone – there are other survivors on Earth, known as the Grounders.
The novel is full of action, adventure, and romance, and explores the themes of hope, humanity, and survival. If you are a fan of post-apocalyptic novels or science fiction, I highly recommend The 100. It is a fast-paced, gripping read that will keep you entertained from start to finish.
