The book follows Locke as he sets his sights on a very wealthy nobleman, Dona Viola. With the help of his fellow Bastards, Locke hatches a plan to con Dona Viola out of her fortune. However, things quickly go awry and Locke finds himself in over his head.

The Lies of Locke Lamora is a fast-paced, action-packed novel that will keep readers engaged from start to finish. It is the first book in the Gentleman Bastards series.

Scott Lynch was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota on June 13, 1978, and grew up in South Saint Paul. He attended the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota, and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in History. Afterward, he moved to San Francisco, California to pursue a career in writing.

Scott Lynch’s first novel, The Lies of Locke Lamora, was published in 2006 by Bantam Books. It was a finalist for the World Fantasy Award, the Locus Award, and the Mythopoeic Award, and won the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer.

Red Seas Under Red Skies, the sequel to The Lies of Locke Lamora, was published in 2007. It too was a finalist for the World Fantasy Award and the Locus Award. The Republic of Thieves, the third book in the series, was published in 2013.
