About the Author
Durjoy Datta (born February 10, 1987) is an Indian novelist and entrepreneur. His novels often explore love and heartbreak in modern India. He has co-authored many novels including Of Course I Love You!, Someone Like You, and Now That You’re Rich! Let’s Fall in Love!, Hold My Hand, Our Story Needs No Filter, Till the Last Breath and After All This While.
Datta was born in Kolkata, West Bengal, and raised in Delhi. He attended St. Columba’s School, Delhi, and graduated from Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, the University of Delhi with a degree in English literature. He then studied marketing at the Management Development Institute, Gurgaon. Datta worked in advertising and marketing before becoming a full-time writer.
Datta’s first novel, Of Course, I Love You!, was published when he was 21 years old. It is the story of Deb and Tara, two college students in Delhi who are in love with each other. The novel was well-received and became a bestseller. Datta’s second novel, Someone Like You, was published the following year.
In an interview, Datta said that he draws inspiration from Chetan Bhagat and Sidney Sheldon. He has also cited Jhumpa Lahiri as an influence. Datta is the founder of Grapevine India Publishers, a publishing company that publishes Indian authors.
