About the Author
Sudha Murty is an Indian engineer, teacher, and author. She is known for her literary works in Kannada and English. Sudha Murty has written many books, including the bestselling novel Grandma’s Bag of Stories. She was born on 19 August 1950 in Shiggaon, Karnataka to a middle-class family.
Sudha Murty completed her schooling from Vijaya College, Hubli, and obtained a degree in Electrical Engineering from the B.V.B. College of Engineering & Technology in Hubli. After that, she worked for some time at TELCO (now Tata Motors) as an engineer. She also went on to complete her MTech in Computer Science from IIT Delhi.
Sudha Murty has written over 100 books in multiple languages, including English, Kannada, and Hindi. Her works include novels, short stories, travelogues, and non-fiction titles. Sudha Murty’s Grandma’s Bag of Stories is a collection of 49 stories that she heard from her grandmother and other elders.
