About the Author
Robert Kiyosaki is an American businessman and author. He is the founder of the Rich Dad Company, a financial education company, and the creator of the board game Cashflow.
Kiyosaki was born and raised in Hilo, Hawaii. His father was an educator and his mother was a stay-at-home mom. He has three sisters. Kiyosaki is of Japanese descent. Kiyosaki attended the United States Merchant Marine Academy from 1969 to 1971 and then served in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1974. He graduated from NYU with a BBA in 1977.
Kiyosaki started his business career in sales and marketing, eventually becoming the president of a company that manufactured xerographic machines. In 1994, he wrote his first book, Rich Dad, Poor Dad, which became a bestseller. He has since written several more books on finance and investing, including the bestsellers Cashflow Quadrant and Rich Woman.
Kiyosaki has been criticized for some of his statements about investing, but he remains a popular figure in the world of personal finance. He currently lives in Scottsdale, Arizona.
