Og Mandino was an American author. His book The Greatest Salesman in the World is an international bestseller. Og Mandino was born December 12, 1923, into a large family of Italian immigrants in Pittston, Pennsylvania.

In an interview with Mike Martin, Og Mandino said that the book was “a story of the importance of doing things right.” The book is based on a scroll found by Hafid, the protagonist.
