The Scorch Trials PDF is a 2010 young adult dystopian science fiction novel written by American author James Dashner and the second book in The Maze Runner series. The novel was published on September 18, 2010, by Delacorte Press, an imprint of Random House, and was made into a 2015 major motion picture by 20th Century Fox.
The novel follows Thomas and the other Gladers as they face new challenges in a landscape ravaged by solar flares and haunted by an organization known as WCKD. Dashner has said that the book is “a story about survival, about hope, about learning to hang on no matter what might happen in the world.” It explores the themes like same in The Hunger Games book by Suzanne Collins.
The Scorch Trials received generally positive reviews from critics. It was praised for its plotting and action, but some reviewers felt that it suffered from “middle book syndrome” and did not live up to the potential of the first book in the series. The novel was a commercial success, debuting at number 4 on The New York Times Best Seller list for children’s books and selling over one million copies in the United States.

The Scorch Trials Summary
The Scorch Trials picks up immediately after the events of The Maze Runner. Thomas and the other Gladers have just escaped from the Maze, but they’re not out of danger yet. WCKD, the organization that put them in the Maze in the first place, is still after them, and they must go through the Scorch, a desolate wasteland filled with dangerous creatures, to reach safety.
Along the way, they’ll have to face WCKD’s minions, the Cranks, who are people who have been infected with a deadly virus that makes them into zombie-like monsters. Can Thomas and the others make it through the Scorch alive?
