The Son of Sobek Summary
The book starts when Carter Kane is invited by his father to the Long Beach Harbor for some mysterious purpose. On arriving, he meets a mysterious lady named Sadie who reveals that she is his long-lost sister and that their late mother was an Egyptian goddess.
They also discover two powerful magical objects – The Statue of Bes and the Serpent’s Shadow – which they can use to battle the ancient Egyptian gods. Carter and Sadie travel to Los Angeles in search of their father, who has been kidnapped by an evil crocodile god named Sobek.
With the help of their new friend, they manage to defeat him but not without consequences. The Serpent’s Shadow is destroyed and Carter and Sadie must face the consequences of their actions. Carter and Sadie return to Brooklyn House where they discover that one of the gods, Set, has become evil and is planning to destroy the world. Rick Riordan is an American author of fantasy, science fiction, and mystery novels.
