About the Author
Pittacus Lore is the pseudonym of James Frey, an American novelist best known for writing the young adult science fiction series I Am Number Four. The first book in the series was published in 2010, and the most recent book was published in 2016.
Lore was born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1969. He earned a BA from Denison University in 1991 and an MFA from Columbia University in 1996. He is the author of several other novels, including A Million Little Pieces, Bright Shiny Morning, and I Am Ozzy.
His work has been translated into more than forty languages. He currently lives in California with his wife and children. In an interview, he said that writing under a pseudonym allows him to “focus on the stories and the characters and not worry about commerce or promotion.”
