Steven Erikson is a Canadian author of epic fantasy. He was born in Toronto, Ontario, and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He received a BA in archaeology and anthropology from the University of British Columbia and an MA in anthropology from Simon Fraser University.
Erikson has worked as an archaeologist and has taught at the University of New Brunswick, the University of Windsor, and Brandon University. Erikson is known for his series, the Malazan Book of the Fallen, which is comprised of ten novels. He has also written several standalone novels and novellas, as well as a number of short stories.
