About the Author
Kasie West is an American author of young adult novels. Her debut novel, Pivot Point, was published by HarperCollins in 2013. She has since published seven more novels: Split Second (2013), The Distance Between Us (2014), On the Fence (2015), P.S. I Like You(2016), By Your Side (2017), The Fill-In Boyfriend (2017), and The Wish Granter (2018).
West was born in Fresno, California. When she was two, her family moved to Bakersfield, where she lived until she was eighteen. West graduated from Garces Memorial High School in 2010. She then attended Fresno City College for one year before transferring to Fresno State, where she graduated with a degree in English in 2013.
West began writing stories when she was eleven years old. In high school, she wrote a play that was performed at Fresno City College. After college, she interned at a literary agency, which led to her getting a job as an assistant to the same agent. She began writing young adult novels while working as an assistant. Her debut novel, Pivot Point, was published in 2013.
West has cited Sarah Dessen, Deb Caletti, and Jennifer Echols as her favorite authors. She has also said that her own work is influenced by the television show Gilmore Girls.
