The Lost Hero Summary

The novel follows the adventures of Jason Grace, a seventeen-year-old Greek demigod who is one of the main protagonists. The story is set in the Camp Half-Blood chronicles universe and revolves around the quest to rescue Hera, the queen of gods. Along the way, they are joined by Piper McLean and Leo Valdez, two other demigods.

As the book progress, more is revealed about the characters. Jason is a son of Zeus who was stolen from Olympus as a baby and raised by humans. Piper is the daughter of Aphrodite and she has the power to charm, anyone, with her words. Leo is a son of Hephaestus who can control fire and create anything out of metal.

The novel end with a cliffhanger and sets up the sequel, The Son of Neptune. If you like Percy Jackson, then you will love The Lost Hero. It’s a great start to a new series with likable characters and plenty of action and humor.

About the Author

Rick Riordan is the author of the Percy Jackson and The Lost Hero series. He was born in 1965 in San Antonio, Texas. After graduating from Alamo Heights High School, he attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he studied English and History. Rick Riordan’s first job was as a teacher, and he taught middle-school English and Social Studies for eight years.

He also wrote The Percy Jackson and The Lost Hero series while he was teaching. Rick Riordan’s hobbies include reading, writing, hiking, swimming, and playing tennis. He is married to Becky Riordan, and they have two sons, Haley and Patrick. Rick Riordan currently lives in Boston, Massachusetts.

His work has been published in more than thirty-five countries and has sold millions of copies worldwide. Rick Riordan is also the author of The Heroes of Olympus series, The Kane Chronicles series, Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard series, and The Trials of Apollo series.

In an interview, Riordan said that his favorite book is The Odyssey and that his favorite Percy Jackson book is The Lightning Thief. He has also stated that his favorite character to write about is Annabeth Chase and that his favorite scene in any of his books is the battle at Mount Olympus in The Last Olympian.
