Jude Duarte was tricked into betraying her half-fae family and forced to flee to the human world. Now, she must return to Elfhame to save her younger sister from the evil queen who now rules there.
When Jude was seven, her parents died in a car accident. Jude and her twin sister, Taryn, were sent to live with their grandparents in the human world. Jude always felt like an outsider in the human world and longed to return to Elfhame, the land of the fae.
When Jude was sixteen, she and Taryn snuck back into Elfhame. Jude met PrinceCardan, the cruel and handsome son of the High King. Jude quickly became friends with Cardan and his court.
However, Jude was betrayed by Cardan and was forced to flee Elfhame. Jude returned to the human world, heartbroken.
Now, Jude must return to Elfhame to save her sister from the evil queen who now rules there. With the help of her friends, Jude must find a way to overthrow the queen and take back her rightful place as the High Queen of Elfhame.

About the Author
Holly Black is the author of The Folk of the Air series, which includes The Cruel Prince, The Wicked King, and The Queen of Nothing. She is also the author of the Spiderwick Chronicles and the Modern Faerie Tale series. Her books have been translated into over 30 languages and have sold millions of copies worldwide.
Holly Black was born in West Long Branch, New Jersey. She graduated from The College of New Jersey with a degree in English. She currently lives in Massachusetts with her husband and two children.
Black started writing stories when she was eight years old. Her first novel, Tithe: A Modern Faerie Tale, was published when she was twenty-one years old.
