About the Author
Tui T. Sutherland is the author of the New York Times and USA Today best-selling Wings of Fire series, the Menagerie trilogy, and the Pet Trouble series, as well as a contributing author to the bestselling Spirit Animals and Seekers series (as part of the Erin Hunter team).
In 2009, she was a two-day champion on Jeopardy! A graduate of Tufts University, she worked for several years as an editor of children’s books before turning to write full-time.
Sutherland was born on June 10, 1978, in Caracas, Venezuela. When she was four, her family moved to South America and lived in Ecuador, Peru, and Chile before moving back to the United States when she was eleven.
Sutherland has three brothers and two sisters. She grew up in New York state and Vermont and currently lives in Massachusetts with her husband and their two dogs. In an interview, Sutherland said that her favorite book when she was growing up was The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin.
