Kiera Cass is an American author best known for her Selection series. She has also written a number of stand-alone novels, including The Siren and The Betrothed.

The Elite

Kiera Cass was born on September 5, 1981, in South Carolina. She grew up in Blacksburg, Virginia. After graduating from Radford University with a degree in history, she started working on her first novel, The Selection. She started writing The Selection after noticing a lack of strong female characters in the Young Adult genre.

In an interview, she stated that her favorite book is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. She also wrote The Heir, a modern retelling of the classic novel.

Cass was born in South Carolina and currently resides in Virginia with her husband and two children.
