The Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix Summary

The fifth year at Hogwarts is the most eventful yet. Not only is Harry coping with the loss of his godfather, Sirius, but there is also an uprising of dark forces at Hogwarts. The new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Dolores Umbridge, is a particularly nasty piece of work. She institutes rules that make life very difficult for the students, especially Harry.

Hogwarts is also the place where Harry finally learns more about Voldemort’s past and his own connection to the Dark Lord. This knowledge gives Harry strength as he faces not only Umbridge but also the Death Eaters, who have infiltrated Hogwarts. In the end, it is this knowledge that helps Harry defeat Voldemort, once and for all.

The Order of the Phoenix is a secret society that Dumbledore has formed to fight Voldemort. Harry, Ron, and Hermione are all members. The Order is essential in the battle against Voldemort and helps Harry immensely throughout the book.

Without the Order’s help, Harry would have been powerless against Voldemort. With the Order’s help, Harry is able to finally defeat the Dark Lord and bring peace to the wizarding world.
