Scott Lynch (born June 13, 1978) is an American fantasy author. He wrote The Lies of Locke Lamora (2007), a New York Times bestseller, and its sequels, Red Seas Under Red Skies (2007) and The Republic of Thieves (2013).
Scott Lynch was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota on June 13, 1978, and grew up in South Saint Paul. He attended the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota, and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in History. Afterward, he moved to San Francisco, California to pursue a career in writing.
Scott Lynch’s first novel, The Lies of Locke Lamora, was published in 2006 by Bantam Books. It was a finalist for the World Fantasy Award, the Locus Award, and the Mythopoeic Award, and won the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer.
Red Seas Under Red Skies, the sequel to The Lies of Locke Lamora, was published in 2007. It too was a finalist for the World Fantasy Award and the Locus Award. The Republic of Thieves, the third book in the series, was published in 2013.
